The Process
“In my work I use sand, clay, and soil as my medium. Each material carries its own natural colors and textures, revealing qualities we often overlook. By working directly with the earth, I let its character shape the composition — creating abstract forms that reflect both the beauty and fragility of nature.”
Nature as the Greatest Source of Inspiration
Nature has always been the foundation of my work. Its endless variation of colors, textures, and forms continues to shape my imagination. Yet over time I realized that I could not capture the essence of nature with pencil or paint alone. Instead of representing the natural world, I began working with the materials themselves.
Today, the earth is my medium. I collect sand, clay, and soil from different places, each with its own history, character, and tone. In my studio, I work with these raw materials directly, without pigments or artificial additions. By layering, sieving, and arranging, I let their natural qualities form the composition.
The process is both intuitive and precise — a collaboration between myself and the material. The grains of sand decide as much as my hand does. This unpredictability brings each work to life, revealing textures and structures that could never be planned.
