Meet the Artist
My name is Jente Ploos van Amstel, an artist and art educator based in Drenthe, The Netherlands. My practice is rooted in a lifelong connection with nature, which continues to inspire both my life and my work.
Through my art, I aim to highlight the hidden beauty and value of the earth — encouraging people to see nature not only as a backdrop to life, but as something to recognize, respect, and care for.
Discover the Process
In my work I use sand, clay, and soil as my medium. Their natural colors and textures form the basis of each composition, making the earth itself both material and subject. Most of the sand I work with comes directly from my surroundings, grounding every piece in a specific place.
